IMG_3353I have been given the opportunity to go with a team of 10 from The Parks Church in McKinney to Vietnam in April , and we will be working with an  underground church and a ministry to the slums of Ho Chi Minh. Our days will be spent in the slums doing several feedings and renovating unsuitable living conditions, visiting hospitals and the homes of expectant mothers, and equipping and serving the local Christians. I am so excited to serve the people of Vietnam and meet other believers on the other side of the globe. It is hard to explain, but there is such a great joy when you know that you are a part of something so much bigger than yourself.
So, why Vietnam? Vietnam is a dark country ruled by fear and oppression. It operates under a Communist government and mourns the most abortions per capita in the world. Most Vietnamese people have never heard of Jesus. But, we believe God can change a country and save a people for himself. I’m going on this trip because God, through his son Jesus, has given me so much. I cannot help but happily give this grace to others in return.
The purpose of this letter is to (1) let you know what I’m doing, (2) to ask for prayer support, and (3) to ask for financial support as you feel led to give. As a prayer partner, I would ask that you commit to praying for my teammates and I everyday we are in Vietnam. (April 5-13)  As a financial supporter, you will be helping our team raise the $2,500 per person needed for travel expenses. We will be raising the necessary expenses as a team. Any amount that you can invest in this trip will be significant and much appreciated.
Email me back to say you are praying for us. We need the Holy Spirit to fill us and use us!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in our afflictions, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God”  – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
God Bless you.
